John Whaite served up a tasty asparagus and Lancashire cheese quiche on today’s episode of Lorraine.
The ingredients for the pastry are: 200g plain flour, pinch of salt, 100g unsalted butter, cubed, 1 large egg and 2 tsp cold water.
For the filling: 250g asparagus spears, 100g smoked bacon, finely chopped, 200ml whipping cream, 2 large eggs, 80g creamy Lancashire cheese, finely grated or crumbled, ¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg, Sea salt flakes and finely ground black pepper.
