James Martin’s braised hogget pie recipe on James Martin: Home Comforts

James Martin served up tasty one pot braised hogget shoulder of lamb pie with potatoes on James Martin: Home Comforts.

James says: “This hearty lamb hotpot topped with sliced potatoes is a delicious dish to share with family or friends.”

The ingredients are: 1.5kg boneless shoulder of hogget, 6 shallots, roughly sliced, 2 tbsp tomato purée, 2 garlic cloves, crushed, 4 carrots, cubed, 2 celery stalks, roughly sliced, 1 small bunch fresh thyme, leaves only, 750ml bottle red wine, 500ml beef stock, 1kg waxy potatoes, peeled and thickly sliced and 50g butter and sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
