The X Factor 2010: Louis Walsh to Shoulder Blame If John Adeleye Goes Tonight

Louis Walsh has admitted that it will be his fault if John Adeleye is voted off The X Factor tonight.

John sang ‘Zoom’ by Fat Larry’s Band and as usual delivered a brilliant vocal performance. However, this seem to have been overlooked by some of the judges because they were distracted by what was happening on stage

A quarter of the way into the song two raunchy dancers appeared on the stage behind John that Simon later compared to two dogs getting it on.

There is no doubt that John has a brilliant voice, and he shows off an impressive vocal range. But being Louis’ act, song choices are not always as current as they could be, as Simon often picks up on.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor, Louis said that he was to blame for the mixed reaction to the singer’s performance during `Guilty Pleasures’ week.

Louis confessed: “I have to put my hand up and say it shouldn’t have happened. I thought the judges would focus on his vocals.

“I can’t get it right all the time. John gave a fantastic vocal. I could have done better.”

Cheryl Cole then had a dig at him claiming that he should have acted to change the staging.

Cole moaned: “I think as a mentor you have to be aware of that stuff in rehearsal and say that it didn’t work and change it.”

Louis replied: “I was watching and listening to his vocals. He is a great, great singer. It’s my fault if he goes.”

Judges comments on John’s performance:

Dannii Minogue: I have to say you gave a good performance tonight. It’s not one of my favourite songs, I admit, but you sang it so well. It’s a difficult song to sing. I love the fact that we got to know you this week. What were those dancers doing across the stage? That was so distracting.

Cheryl Cole: Your the mentor in all fairness, if you’d wanted to take them out, you should’ve said. That’s the beauty of you though, you always deliver, you don’t let things distract you. You’re always present and deliver your vocals really really well. That’s all you need to do.

Simon Cowell: I was trying to concentrate and I’ll be honest with you….I remember watching a newscaster once and behind him two dogs were mating and it was so distracting. You were singing the horrible sing Louis gave you and you gave it everything you did but it was one of the most weirdest things I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s not your fault!

Louis Walsh: I’m gonna judge John on his vocal and his new hair, his new look. You came out here tonight like a popstar. Yes, the dancers were a bit of a distraction, I admit. I want people at home to vote for you on your singing, not on the silly dancing.
