The ingredients are: 175 g butter, softened, plus extra for greasing, 175 g caster sugar, 3 eggs, 175 g plain flour, plus extra for dusting, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tblsp milk and icing or caster sugar, for sprinkling two 18cm diameter sandwich tins.
