Ravneet Gill chicken pulao with rice, lemon and crispy fried onions recipe on Ravneet Gill’s Chop House

Ravneet Gill served up a tasty chicken pulao with rice, lemon and crispy fried onions on Ravneet Gill’s Chop House.

The ingredients are: 300g basmati rice, soaked for 10 minutes and well rinsed, 500g chicken thigh, diced into 3cm pieces, 3 tbsp vegetable oil, 1/2 cinnamon stick, 1 tbsp cumin seeds, 3 black cardamom pods, 7 cloves, 7 black peppercorns, 2 onions, thinly sliced, 6 cloves garlic, 5cm piece of fresh ginger, 4 thai green chillies, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp garam masala, 1 tsp biryani masala (optional), 2 tbsp crispy fried onions, 1/2 lemon, juiced, 4 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped, 3 tsp salt, 550ml boiling water and Yoghurt (for serving).
