Caroline Waldegrave Lambert cake with lemon curd recipe on The Great British Bake Off Stand Up To Cancer

Caroline Waldegrave showcased a delicious Lambert cake with lemon curd for a technical challenge on The Great British Bake Off Stand Up To Cancer.

The ingredients for the sponge are: 200g caster sugar, 200g butter, 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste, 4 medium eggs, beaten, 200g plain flour, 2½ tsp baking powder, Pinch of salt and 50ml whole milk.

For the lemon curd: 4 medium egg yolks, 100g caster sugar, 65g juice, and zest of 2 lemons and 50g butter, cubed.

For the vanilla buttercream: 250g butter, cubed and room temperature, 1kg icing sugar, 120ml whole milk, 1 tbsp vanilla extract, Yellow gel food colouring, Orange gel food colouring and Red gel food colouring.
