Simon Rimmer served up a delicious sticky toffee apple cake for bonfire night on Steph’s Packed Lunch.
The ingredients are: 125g soft dark brown sugar, 1 apple, peeled, cored and cut into discs, 300g plain flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp mix spice, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, pinch grated nutmeg, 4 apples, 150g soft dark brown sugar, 150g unsalted butter, melted, 2 medium free-range eggs, 330ml French cider, reduced by 2/3, 200g golden sultanas and 100g pecans, chopped.
For the sauce: 100g dark brown sugar, 100ml cream and 100g butter.
