Matt Tebbutt showcased tasty full English American-style pancakes with mushrooms and maple syrup on Saturday Kitchen.

The ingredients for the mushrooms are: 2 large Portobello mushrooms, 1 tsp olive oil, 20g unsalted butter, ½ tsp thyme, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

For the pancakes: 450g self-raising flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 50g unsalted butter, melted, 600ml buttermilk and 3 free-range eggs, separated.

For the full English fry-up: 25g unsalted butter, 2 ripe tomatoes, halved, 1 tbsp crème fraîche, 1 cooked pork sausage, 1 crispy fried egg, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

For the maple bacon: 4 rashers streaky bacon, 3 tbsp maple syrup, to glaze and black pepper.
