Rav Gill showcased her delicious apple pie and milkshake treats for today’s technical challange on Junior Bake Off.
The ingredients for the apple pie are:-
For the flaky pastry: 175g plain flour, 35g icing sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp salt, 120g unsalted butter, frozen and grated and 5-6 tbsp ice cold water.
For the slurry: 50g plain flour, 25ml vegetable oil, 90ml sparkling water and 1 tbsp caster sugar.
For the filling: 1 Bramley apple, finely diced, juice of ½ lemon, 100g caster sugar, 3 tbsp cornflour, 2 tsp vanilla bean paste and 1 tsp ground cinnamon.
The ingredients for the milkshake are: 850ml whole milk, 4 tbsp whole milk, 6 tbsp custard powder, 2 tbsp caster sugar, 4 x scoops vanilla ice cream and 2 tsp vanilla extract.
