Si and Dave serves up a tasty looking layered beef and mushroom suet pudding on their Best Of British Foods series.
They say: “Come in from the cold with this comforting steamed pudding of beef, stout and mushrooms. Look for well-marbled braising beef such as chuck steak for this recipe.”
The ingridents are: 2 tbsp sunflower oil, 2 medium onions, chopped, 200g button mushrooms, wiped and sliced, 4 tbsp plain flour, 1 tsp flaked sea salt, 2 tsp dried mixed herbs, 750g well-marbled braising steak, such as chuck and blade, 1 bay leaf, 440ml stout, 300ml beef stock, made with 1 stock cube, 2 tbsp tomato purée, 2 tsp caster sugar and freshly ground black pepper.
