James Martin black treacle bread with golden syrup recipe on James Martin’s Saturday Morning

James Martin served up a tasty soda with black treacle bread and a roscoff onion soup on James Martin’s Saturday Morning.

The ingredients are: 300g wholemeal flour, 50g oats, 1 tsp bicarb, 1 tsp caster sugar, 200ml buttermilk, 200ml full fat milk, 50g golden syrup and 50g black treacle.

For the onion soup: 25g butter, 1 tbs flour, 2 roscoff onions, water to cover, 50ml sherry, 100ml double cream, Salt and pepper.
