17 year old Charlene Dawson returned to the X Factor after auditioning three years ago at just  14-years of age. Charlene, who started singing at the age of 5, told the judges that she believed that she is a lot more confident now compared to her first audition 3 years ago.

She delivered a memorable performance not least because it was supervising to hear such a powerful voice booming out of such a tiny body. Her version of Beyonce’s ‘Listen’ wasn’t exactly pitch perfect, but she definitely displayed a lot of potential.

Nicole Scherzinger  said: “I think you did an amazing job. I did not thing such a big voice would come out of that little body.”

However, Simon Cowell had misgivings and said he thought the song did not suit her voice and was perhaps too big for her. However, along with the other judges he gave her a yes vote that saw her though to the next round.
