Mary Berry bakes a chocolate tray bake topped with milk chocolate icing that’s been feathered with white chocolate on the first episode of Mary Berry Cooks.
This is a great cake for afternoon tea or a birthday party for the young as they love the sweetness of milk chocolate.
Mary says about her bake: “Chocolate is a favourite for all ages and this chocolate tray bake with a milk chocolate topping and feathering too, goes down really well with children and adults.”
To make her tray bake, Mary’s used: 275g caster sugar, 3 eggs, 125ml milk,
175g self-raising flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 3-4 tablespoons warmed and sieved apricot jam.
For the icing she used: 100ml double cream, 200g milk chocolate for baking, finely chopped and 50g white chocolate.
