Nadia Sawalha tarka dhal with roast delica pumpkin, spinach and chapatis recipe on Nadia’s Family Feasts

Nadia Sawalha and Nisha Katona served up a tasty Indian tarka dhal with roast delica pumpkin, lentils, spinach, turmeric and chapatis on Nadia’s Family Feasts.

The ingredients are: 650g delica pumpkin, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces, 2 Tablespoons ghee, 500gm red split lentils, 1.2L water, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 heaped teaspoon ground turmeric, 200ml coconut milk and 150g baby spinach.

For the tardka: 4 Tablespoons ghee, 1 medium onion, thinly sliced, 2 teaspoons cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds, 4 cloves garlic, sliced, 1 inch ginger, peeled and julienned and 2 long green finger chilli, thickly sliced.
