John Torode served up tasty autumn pies with stewing beef steak, dried mushrooms, mash and chicken in the woods on This Morning.
The ingredients are: 50g butter, 2 small onions, chopped, 200g chestnut button mushrooms, 1kg beef shin, diced, 50g plain flour, 750ml beef stock, 2 sprigs thyme, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and Handful of flat-leaf parsley, chopped.
For the base pastry: 200g lard, at room temperature, 400g self-raising flour, sifted, A pinch of salt, 185ml cold water, 1 egg, A little milk, 500g puff pastry, egg 1, beaten and salt and pepper.
