Harry Hill vegetarian Indian thali recipe on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast

Harry Hill and Jamie Oliver served up a tasty Indian vegetarian thali with paratha bread and aloo gobi on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast.

The ingredients for the tarka daal are: 200 g yellow split peas, 2 tablespoons ghee, 1 large onion, 2.5 cm piece of ginger, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 fresh green chillies, 2 ripe tomatoes , on the vine, ½ teaspoon turmeric, ½ teaspoon chilli powder, ½ a lemon, 1 fresh red chilli , (optional) and mustard seeds , (optional).

For aloo gobi: 2 cloves of garlic, 1 large onion, ghee , or vegetable oil, 2 potatoes , (300g), 2 teaspoons cumin seeds, ½ teaspoon turmeric, 200 g cauliflower, 100 g peas, 1 teaspoon kasoori methi , (fenugreek leaf), 2 teaspoons ground coriander, 2 teaspoons garam masala, ½ teaspoon chilli powder and ½ a bunch of fresh coriander , (15g).

For the chilli paneer: 3 spring onions, 2 fresh green chillies, 5 cm piece of ginger, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 small red pepper, ghee , or vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar, 1 teaspoon hot chilli sauce, 1 teaspoon caster sugar, 1 teaspoon cornflour and 1 x 226 g pack of paneer cheese.

For the raita: 1 cucumber, 2 ripe tomatoes , on the vine, 2 fresh green chillies, 200 g natural yoghurt and 1 teaspoon ground cumin.

For the parathas: 600 g strong white bread flour , plus extra for dusting, olive oil and 400 ml milk.
