Ed Byrne is the man chosen to give a helping hand to the celebs on today’s episode of The Great British Bake Off that saw impressionist Alistair McGowan crowned star baker.

Alistair was joined in the Bake Off Tent by Rochelle Humes, Doon Mackichan and Helen Skelton. They all gave up their time to help raise much needed funds for a worthwhile cause.

For the signature challenge Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood set the celebs the task of baking pizza, for the technical challenge 10 Eccles cakes to Paul Hollywood’s recipe and for the showstopper a tiered cake that can have as many layers as they like. However, the cake had to represent some sort of sporting equipment.

After another lively day in the Bake Off tent, it was Alistair who won today’s Sport Relief Star Baker apron.
