Lavender Shortbread and Roulade with homemade lemon curd got The Sweetheart Bakery a first round win on Britain’s Best Bakery

The Sweetheart Bakery from Consett in County Duraham won the judges over – Mich Turner and Peter Sidwell – on today’s episode of Britain’s Best Bakery and booked their place in the regional North of England and Scotland final.

The bakers showcased an array of bakes for the judges at the start of the competition including their egg custard tart speciality bake.

The Sweetheart Bakery’s Lavender shortbread with cream and lavender jelly made their wild card bake stand out to the judges on Britain’s Best Bakery.

Roulade with home-made lemon curd in the Baker’s Dozen challenge clinched victory for the Sweatheart Baker on today’s episode of Britain’s Best Bakery.
