John Whaite apple lattice tart recipe on Lorraine

John Whaite served up a delicious apple lattice tart dessert on today’s episode of Lorraine.

The ingredients for the pastry: 400g plain flour, 1 tbsp caster sugar
, 1 tsp salt, 200g unsalted butter, at room temperature and 4-6 tbsp cold water.

For the filling:
 6 Granny Smith apples, 6 Braeburn apples
, Juice of 1 lemon
, 170g light brown muscovado sugar, 75g unsalted butter
, 1 tbsp Calvados or brandy
 and 2 tsp vanilla bean paste.

To finish: 1 egg, beaten
 and A sprinkling of caster sugar.
