Star of High School Musical Zac Efron, has completed a stint in rehab for cocaine abuse according to reports earlier today.
The clean cut star successfully finished a stint in rehab a few months ago after his use of the drug “spiralled out of control” during the filming of Seth Rogen’s movie Neighbours.
The news as come as a shock to many of his fans, who know the star as squeaky clean Troy in the Disney franchise High School Musical.
The 25-year-old checked himself into rehab according to TMZ, who also reports that sources who worked on the set of Neighbours claim it was widely known Zac was dabbling in cocaine.
However, the actor is thought to have made a full recovery and was recently seen on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Zac will next star in a drama called Parkland, a story about the Kennedy assassination. He plays the part of Jim Carrico, the doctor who tried to save JFK at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
“It’s really a surreal experience for me,” he told USA Today.
“It feels very mature and really interesting. It’s a whole different kind of filmmaking and I feel blessed to have been a part of it.”
