Channel 4 launched a new series of a space documentary that reveals what it’s like to live and work in space for months at a time through the eyes of astronauts Rick Mastracchio, Koichi Wakata, Mike Hopkins and their families.
Rick and Koichi reveal what it means to them to do a job that is out of this world. The programme demonstrates how the main function of the International Space Station – to carry out research experiments for a wide range of scientists around the world – fits in to Rick and Koichi’s daily life.
It also shows how the astronauts approach day-to-day tasks like eating, sleeping and washing in completely different ways.
The programme also explores the psychological effects of being in space and how NASA supports the crews and families during their missions.
