It’s been confirmed that former X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd’s debut single ‘Swagger Jagger’ will be released on July 31.
The track from her debut album (to be released later this year), is co-written by Cher herself, premiered earlier this week on BBC Radio 1 following an online leak.
Speaking about the track,, Cher said: “I flew over to America to start working on my album. My first stop was Miami where I went to work with The Runners.
“We did two tracks and I’m very proud of them and I cannot wait for everybody to hear them. ‘Swagger Jagger’ was one of the first tracks we recorded and I loved it straight away and knew it had to be my first single! I hope you all like it. I cannot wait to get out there and perform to you all.”
Lloyd has also revealed that she is still getting used to life as a popstar, telling Scot Mills: “Sometimes I get up in the morning and I’m thinking how did this happen to me?
“You look at the people around you and the fans and the fan mail… sometimes I sit there in my pyjamas with a cup of tea and think ‘I don’t get it, why do these people like me?’”
Cher added: “I’m trying to let it in bit by bit because I don’t want to get suffocated by all the madness.”
Cher will perform the track live for the first time on T4 On The Beach on July 10.
