Jamie Oliver Smokin’ chicken chowder on Jamie’s Money Saving Meals

Jamie Oliver cooks smokin’ chicken chowder for around 77 pence per portion on Jamie’s Money Saving Meals.

Jamie says: “Every time I eat this soup it makes me incredibly happy. The leftover chicken and the stock made from its carcass give a real depth and heartiness, and the hits of sweetcorn and crunchy smoky bacon bring it together to make it an absolute pleasure to eat. It’s a nice sociable dish to make for friends, served from a pan in the middle of the table.”

For his chicken soup Jamie used: 1 leftover higher-welfare chicken carcass, 200 g leftover cooked higher-welfare chicken, 1 onion, 2 carrots, 1 large potato, ½ bunch of fresh flat-leaf parsley, 4 rashers of smoked streaky bacon, 500 g frozen sweetcorn, 100 ml single cream and 1 handful of cream or matzo crackers.
