Ivan Day Yorkshire Christmas Pie recipe on the Bikers Best Of British Foods

It may be Easter but food historian Ivan Day serves up a Yorkshire Christmas Pie using several types of birds for the filling in his attempt to showcase a bit of British food history.

Ivan cooked his pie for the Bikers on their new Best Of British food series and revealed to Si and Dave how the pie would have been prepared and served in Victorian times.

The pies were often made in magnificent copper pie moulds lined with pastry that helped preserve the meat.
