Nadiya Hussain served up a tasty picnic samosa pie with hot water pastry on Nadiya’s Family Favourites.
The ingredients for the filling are: 5 tbsp olive oil, 3 small onions, finely chopped, 1½ tsp salt, 1 tsp ground ginger, 1 tbsp garlic granules, 1 tbsp cumin seeds, 2 tsp dried red chilli flakes, 500g lamb mince, 500g potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes, 200g frozen peas, 2 tbsp cornflour and a large handful fresh coriander, finely chopped.
For the hot water pastry: 265g plain flour, 55g strong bread flour, plus extra for dusting, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp ground turmeric, 135ml boiling water, 65g vegetable fat and 1 free-range egg, beaten, for glazing.
