Anna Haugh served up a savarin a l’orange that is similar to a rum baba dessert, using Mildred Nicholls recipe on Royal Recipes with Michael Buerk.
The ingredients for a typical savarin a l’orange consist of: eggs, caster sugar, flour, sachet of baking powder, tablespoons milk, pinch of salt and butter for the mold.
For the syrup: orange juice, orange zest, caster sugar, rum.
To finish : cream, orange zest and candied orange peel (optional).
