Paul Hollywood Pies and Puds : Black Forest trifle with Spices and Blondies from Arun Kapil

Chef turned spices expert Arun Kapil visits Paul in his kitchen to explain all about spices on today’s Paul Hollywood Pies and Puds.

Paul embarks on a taste test of peppers, nutmegs and other spices to find ingredients he could use in his black forest gateau recipe.

However, before the master baker starts his baking, Arun offers him a sample of a frittata he made using many of the spices on display. (A frittata is an egg-based Italian dish similar to an omelette or crustless quiche, enriched with additional ingredients such as meats, cheeses, vegetables or pasta.)

Arun makes his frittata with eggs, blue cheese, potatoes and freshly grated nutmegs.

After sampling Arun’s spicy samples, Paul gets his black forest gateau on the way with assistance for Arun. Arun assist the master baker with the spices need for his gateau and made a further contribution supplying some delicious spicy blondies for the base of the desert.

This is the delicious desert produced by the master baker and his spicy assistant.
