Despite Jermaine Jones’s disqualification from the show this week, American Idol bosses decided to eliminate another contestant tonight.

In the bottom 3 were Shannon Magrane, Erika Van Pelt and Elise Testone. Erika was then relieved to know that she was in fact safe. It then came down to either Shannon or Elise and unfortunately for Shannon, her time was up.

Shannon then went on to sing “One Sweet Day” for her sing-for-your-life song, which is maybe not her best choice from her songbook so far. No surprise therefore that the judges decided not to save her.

So Shannon heads home.
