Phil Vickery served up a tasty slow-cooked lamb shepherd’s pie with pearl barley fit for a wedding reception on This Morning.
The ingredients are: 4 tbsp oil, 4 small onions, chopped very finely, 250g lamb shoulder mince, 250g slow cooked or left over roast lamb, cold and cut into nice pieces, 2 cloves garlic, 2-3 tbsp plain flour, 2 tbsp tomato puree, pinch dried thyme, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 4 tbsp cooked pearl barley, 300ml strong lamb or beef stock, salt and pepper, 750g potatoes, raw weight cooked and mashed, but warm, 150mls hot milk, 50g butter or olive oil, pinch nutmeg, salt and pepper.
