Paul Hollywood challenged this week’s celebrity bakers to bake football pies filled with minced meat, onions and peas for the technical challenge on The Great Sport Relief Bake Off 2016.
Thew ingredients for the pastry are: 250g plain flour, plus extra for dusting, pinch salt, 125g chilled butter, cubed, 2 medium egg yolks and 1 free-range egg, beaten for egg wash.
For the filling: splash of oil, for frying, 1 small onion, chopped, 500g lean steak mince, 1 tbsp tomato purée, 1 tbsp plain flour, 200ml beef stock, a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce, 100g frozen peas and salt and pepper.
