Phil Vickery serves up a tasty toad in the hole for a one-pot, no-fuss dish on This Morning.
Phil says: “This is the best toad in the hole recipe. The secret being the oven must be hot, use an ovenproof frying pan and only have the batter a couple of cm deep in the middle of the pan. This will ensure a well-risen, crispy side and cooked slightly soft bottom.”
The ingredients are: 2 tbsp any oil, 4 large sausages, spicy or Cumberland, 2 medium eggs, 115g plain flour, ½ pint milk, Salt and ground white pepper and Onion gravy and mashed potato to serve.
