Mary Berry served up a tasty chicken pasta bake as a dish inspired by her family on Mary Berry’s Absolute Favourites.
Mary says: “This is a wonderfully comforting dish, it can be made ahead and will go down really well with the family. It is certainly my grandchildren’s favourite!”
The ingredients are: butter, for greasing, 250g penne, 1 onion, roughly chopped, 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips roughly the size of your little finger, 1 tbsp paprika, 2 tbsp olive oil and salt and freshly ground black pepper.
For the sauce: 50g butter, 50g plain flour, 750ml hot milk, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, 100g Parmesan cheese, coarsely grated and 2 large tomatoes, deseeded and cut into small cubes.
