Mary Berry tomato and herb meatballs recipe on Mary Berry’s Absolute Favourites

Mary Berry served up tasty tomato and herb meatballs on Mary Berry’s Absolute Favourites.

This flavoursome and succulent dish is Mary’s grandchildren’s favourite comfort food.

The ingridents are: 1 large onion, finely chopped, 2-3 garlic cloves, crushed, 50g Parmesan cheese, grated, 1 tbsp thyme leaves, chopped, ½ tsp paprika, 1 small egg, beaten, 500g lean minced beef, 2 tbsp olive oil, for frying and salt and freshly ground black pepper.

For the sauce: 1 large onion, chopped, 4 garlic cloves, crushed, 600ml passata, 3 tbsp tomato purée, 2 tsp caster sugar, a dash of hot pepper sauce such as Tabasco, or ¼ tsp cayenne pepper and 2 tbsp chopped basil.
