John Whaite serves up a pasta sauce using a hybrid vegetable that’s a cross between onion and garlic on Lorraine.
The ingredients are: 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 garlic cloves, crushed, 1 small onion, chopped, 400g tin chopped tomatoes, 1 tsp sea salt, 1 tsp sugar, Splash of balsamic vinegar, A handful of torn basil leaves and 400g spaghetti.
To serve: Parmesan cheese shavings (optional).
