A Patchwork farmer showcased her Hackney Salad and Sorrel pesto recipe on James Martin: Home Comforts.
The organic salad grown on sites in the heart of Hackney is grown by social enterprise Growing Communities in the urban market gardens.
They supply local people and business with fresh produces each week right from the farm with no food miles involved.
They grow 123 varieties of salad leaf for their salad bags which could contain up to 30 different types of leaf depending on the season.
Any leftover leaves are often turned into products like sorrel pesto that are sold at local markets.
