It is day nineteen of MasterChef The Professional and that means it is the start of finals week where one chef will be crowned MasterChef The Professional 2014 champion.

However, before that, there are a few challenges for the chefs that made it to the finals – Danny, Sven, Brian, Jamie and Darren – to complete. The first is to make a vegetarian dish from their own recipe in the ultimate invention test that does nor include fish.

From a selection of fruit, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, grains, nuts, herbs and spices, they have an hour and 15 minutes to draw on their chefs repertoire and deliver a dish showcasing all their culinary talents.

After tasting their dish, the judges – Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti – will send one of them home.
