Gino D’Acampo makes a delicious Tiramisu dessert for the festive season on Lets Do Christmas Lunch with Gino and Mel.
Tiramisu is a popular coffee-flavoured Italian dessert. It is made of ladyfingers dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar, and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa.
The ingredients are: 200g plain flour, 75g coco powder, 3 tsp baking powder, 8 large eggs, 300g caster sugar and 100g salted butter – melted and cooled slightly.
For the coffee mousse: 275g dark chocolate, 175g salted butter, soft, 3 tbsp camp coffee essence, 6 large eggs separated, 60g caster sugar and 6 tbsp amaretto.
For the mascarpone topping: 100g mascarpone cheese, 200g full fat cream cheese, 80g icing sugar sifted, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp caster sugar, 2tbsp flaked almonds and 1 bar of dark chocolate.
