Oonagh Simms makes gourmet baked apple purée marshmallows on The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
As a carefree teenager with the craving to become a chocolatier and a passion for patisserie, Oonagh enrolling at the école Médéric in Paris where she studied for 4 years and finally qualified as a fully trained Pâtissière & Chocolatier.
Ready to start a new adventure she returned to London to work as a chocolatier for a leading luxury confectioner. And that’s when she spotted a gap in the market. Oonagh says: “Paris Oonagh they would make perhaps 4 different types of marshmallow a week. They were used in the famous Gateaux Royal, brought along to dinner parties or served as a petite four alongside a café crème. But here? Here they remained those sad pink and white puffs only rustled out of a bag to soak up the end of a bonfire…”
So Oonagh became ‘The Marshamallowist’, creating decadent Marshmallows in grown up flavours with a French, soufflé-like texture and a signature London edge.
Today, Oonagh showcased her baked apple purée Marshmallows recipe on The Alan Titchmarsh Show as well as showing off a number of different flavours for Alan and his studio guests to try.
