The Great British Bake Off eclairs recipe saw Richard crowned star baker in pastry week.
The showstopper challenge saw the remaining bakers create 24 éclairs, with two different flavours and four hours to make them.
Paul Hollywood’s comment – ‘if they can’t produce a good éclair in that time, they shouldn’t be in that tent’ – must have made a few people nervous but Richard Burr seem to have everything under control.
After excelling in the savoury pastry parcels bake and the kouign amann challenge, their was only one more obstacle left in Richard’s way to pastry greatness, the éclairs test.
However, Richard kept a cool head in the bake off tent and delivered near perfect eclairs to secured the title of Star Baker for a third time after almost matching Hollywood’s kouign amann, topping the technical rankings and impressing with his Stair of Eclairs.
