Rachel Allen makes a delicious Teddy Bear cake that is ideal for children on her Cake Diaries.
The ingredients for the cake: 400 g butter, softened, plus extra for greasing, 400 g sugar, 8 eggs, 400 g plain flour and 4 tsp baking powder.
For the icing: 450 g butter, softened, 900 g icing sugar, sifted and a few drops of food colouring, such as pink, red, blue or yellow.
To decorate: 6-7 small sweets, (such as chocolate buttons, Smarties or Jelly Tots) for the eyes, nose and buttons and 1liquorice lace for the mouth.
