Mary Berry served up a delicious pear treacle steamed pudding with ginger and toffee sauce on A Mary Berry Christmas.
The ingredients are: unsalted butter, for greasing, 125g baking spread, 75g light muscovado sugar, 100g black treacle, 150g self raising flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp mixed spice, 1 tsp allspice, 1 tsp ground ginger, 2 large free-range eggs, 2 tbsp milk and 1 x 400g tinned pears in juice, drained.
For the toffee sauce: 300ml double cream, 100g unsalted butter, 75g light muscovado sugar and 2 tbsp black treacle.
