Mary Berry and Alan Tidmarsh served up a delicious apple and almond cake with cream on Mary at 90: A lifetime of Cooking.
The ingredients are: 225g self-raising flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 225g caster sugar, 2 large free-range eggs, 1 tsp almond extract, 150g unsalted butter, melted, 350g cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced (225g prepared weight) and 25g flaked almonds.
