Mary Berry braised beef with cauliflower potato mash, smoked bacon and chestnut mushrooms recipe on Mary at 90

Mary Berry served up tasty braised beef with cauliflower potato mash, smoked bacon, chestnut mushrooms and red current jelly on Mary at 90: A Lifetime of Cooking.

The ingredients are: 3 tbsp sunflower oil, 1kg braising beef, diced, 250g smoked streaky bacon, roughly chopped, 2 large onions, thinly sliced, 3 large garlic cloves, finely grated, 500g chestnut mushrooms, halved, 3 tbsp tomato purée, 55g plain flour, 175ml red wine, 450ml beef stock, 1–2 tsp redcurrant jelly, 3 bay leaves, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

For the cauliflower and potato mash: 1kg floury potatoes, peeled and chopped into large cubes, 350g cauliflower, broken into florets, 3 tbsp milk, knob unsalted butter and 100g mature Cheddar, grated.
