James Martin served up a delicious classic steamed syrup pudding with vanilla bean paste orange custard on James Martin’s Saturday Morning.
The ingredients for the sponge are: 200g butter, softened, 200g caster sugar, 4 eggs, 200g self-rising flour, 1 tbs vanilla bean paste, 1 orange zest and 150ml golden syrup.
For the custard: 8 egg yolks, 75g caster sugar, 300ml milk, 300ml double cream and Orange juice – from orange used above.
