Phil Vickery served up a tasty budget batch cook with a championship chilli winning recipe with rice and potato wedges on this morning.
The ingredients are: 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 4 large onions, peeled and finely chopped, 4 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped, 500g beef mince, best with a 20% fat content, 1 tbsp cumin, 2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1- 2 tbsp paprika (optional), 2 tbsp dried oregano, 1- 2 tsp dried chilli flakes, 400g can chopped tomatoes in juice, 400ml water, roughly, 4 tbsp tomato puree, 1- 2 tsp sugar, 1 x 400g can black eyed peas, drained, 1 tbsp plain flour, 3 tbsp cold water, Salt and pepper.
To serve (optional): Avocado , Sour cream , Soft wheat tortillas, Tortilla chips and Cooked long grain rice.
