Nadiya Hussain zingy tomato prawns with paratha and a tangy turmeric, chilli and tamarind sauce recipe on Nadiya’s Simple Spices

Nadiya Hussain served up zingy tomato prawns with paratha flatbread and a tangy turmeric, chilli and tamarind sauce on Nadiya’s Simple Spices.

The ingredients are: 100ml olive oil, 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced, 6 tomatoes, finely diced, 1 tsp salt, 1 lemon, juice only, 1 tsp ground turmeric, 2 tsp chilli powder, 3 tsp tamarind paste and 450g raw prawns.

To serve: large handful chopped fresh coriander.

  1. Just make this recipe. I made it with fresh tomatoes, so I didn’t add sugar as suggested. It’s far too sour not tangy ! for my and my family’s tastes.
    I’ll cut back the lemon juice next time . And maybe add a tsp of sugar!
    And give it another try.
