Nadiya Hussain bay leaf and turmeric daal with cumin infused tarka recipe on Nadiya’s Simple Spices

Nadiya Hussain served up a tasty bay leaf and turmeric daal with cumin infused tarka on Nadiya’s Simple Spices.

The ingredients for the daal are: 2 x 400g tins brown lentils, 100g hot lime pickle, 1 tsp salt, 3 bay leaves and 1 tsp ground turmeric.

For the tarka: 100g unsalted butter, 8 garlic cloves, thinly sliced, 1 onion, sliced, 6 large dried chillies and 2 tsp ground cumin.

To serve: large handful finely chopped fresh coriander.
