Candice Brown served up a delicious Black Forest Gateau Cake with Dark Chocolate and Cherry Brandy on Steph’s Packed Lunch.
The ingredients for the cake are: 300g plain flour, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, 1.5tsp bicarbonate of soda, 1.5tsp baking powder, 170g golden caster sugar, 30g ground almonds, 75g dark soft brown sugar, 250ml coconut oil, melted, 3 tbsp golden syrup, 250ml whole milk and 3 large eggs.
For the filling: 500g frozen black cherries, 150ml Cherry brandy, 2 tbsp light soft brown sugar, 400ml double cream and Orange zest.
For the ganache: 200ml double cream, 1 cardamom pod, bruised and 200g dark chocolate, plus extra for the top.
For decoration: 100g fresh cherries, with stalks if possible and Icing sugar, to dust.
