Dr Amir Khan served up a tasty ‘gut boosting’ warm winter salad with chickpeas, kidney beans, cucumber, buttery potatoes and tamarind sauce on Lorraine.
The ingredients include:
Red pepper – full of antioxidants and vitamin C,
Cucumber – source of fluid and water,
Cherry tomatoes – multi vitamins and fibre,
Red onions – antioxidants, vitamin C and anti-cancer properties,
Lime – full of vitamin C that is great for the Immune system,
Chickpeas – full of nutrition,
Kidney beans – gut microbiology friendly.
For the Potatoes:
Chives – full of codeine that is good for the memory,
Dill – contain flavonoids that helps to reduce heard disease and strokes,
Potatoes – full of vitamin C,
Butter – for extract flavour,
Nutmegs – helps to ease winter aches.
To finish: Tamarind sauce – for sweetness and tanginess.
