Si and Dave cook a delicious pork-stuffed cabbage leaves dish on the Hairy Bikers Best of British.
The Bikers says: “ These bundles of cabbage filled with paprika-flavoured pork are fiddly at first, but once you’ve got the hang of rolling them, this’ll be a dish you’ll return to again and again.”
For the stuffing they used: 125g easy-cook long grain rice, 2 tbsp sunflower oil, 1 onion, finely chopped, 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped, 1 tsp hot smoked paprika, 3 tsp paprika (sweet), 2 tsp flaked sea salt, 500g pork mince, 20g bunch flat leaf parsley, leaves finely chopped and freshly ground black pepper.
For the cabbage leaves: 2 large green cabbages, 1 chicken stock cube, 300ml soured cream, paprika, to sprinkle and sauerkraut, to serve (optional).
For the tomato sauce: 2 tbsp sunflower oil, 1 onion, finely sliced, 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped, 400g can chopped tomatoes, 2 tbsp tomato purée and 1 tsp caster sugar.
